750ml Vodka 1kg fresh black cherries 1 cup castor sugar
Wash cherries and remove stalks. Layer cherries with sugar in a wide mouth jar. Cover with Vodka, seal and leave for 1 year! Turn jar once a week to ensure sugar disolves. Taste test after two weeks - add more sugar if desired. Note: a year seems a long time to wait, but the end result is well worth it.
